What We Already Know
Palm Beach is an island. I’s chic; it’s quiet. It thumbs its old bluenose at Miami’s glitzy South Beach. It shrugs off L.A.’s Rodeo Drive with exclusive Worth Avenue, where art galleries are pricier and polo players spicier. The privileged winter residents shop at smart boutiques, never carry cash, and party on yachts the size of HMS Queen Mary. Dinner at home is akin to an evening with the Queen and Prince Philip at Buckingham Palace. You can pass it on the highway and never know it’s there.

When you think of Florida you may imagine all if its coastline and its array of beaches to be pretty much the same. Think again. When choosing a stretch of sand as the focus of your visit, you’ll have options galore. You probably won’t go wrong with any of them, but if you’re leaning towards the Gulf Coast rather than the Atlantic, which can be a little rough sometimes, choose a location in the heart of the action; choose Clearwater.

However, hidden underneath all of this is the Little Palm Family Theatre, a wonderful and widely applauded community theatre which is completely run by volunteers.

On our way home from Orlando, a little more than an hour into our 20+ hour road trip back to Toronto, we stopped in St. Augustine, “the nation’s oldest city”, just north of Jacksonville - indeed the oldest continuously occupied European settlement in the United States, having been founded by the Spanish in 1565.
